Pollen belongs to Brood on attack and Catalyst on defense. Buying one family gives you both combat forms.

Planning considerations

Pollen needs three hit stacks before its poison activates. Consider whether your damage coverage keeps a target in reach long enough. Its marcher's final-death effect reduces nearby tower attack speed, making the location of its defeat significant.

One recruit. Two abilities.

ON DEFENSE · Catalyst

Infection tower

Hits add Pollen; at three stacks, the marcher is poisoned for 3%/6%/10%/20% max health per second for 4s.

ON ATTACK · Brood

Infection marcher

On final death, slows the attack speed of enemy towers within 1/1/2/3 hexes by 15%/30%/50%/70% for 4s.

Catalog attack values can remain nonzero when an ability disables normal attacks. Attack × APS is not a damage forecast. Ability effects, stars, synergies, resistances, and round modifiers change combat outcomes.

Brood partners

2 families: each defeated non-summon marcher hatches one temporary Broodling. 4 families: it hatches one additional Broodling. 5 families: it hatches one further Broodling.

Other Brood families: Bee, Egg, Ghost, Soul Mage.

Catalyst partners

2 families: qualifying Catalyst buffs or debuffs echo to one additional target. 4 families: they echo to two additional targets. 5 families: they echo to three additional valid targets instead.

Other Catalyst families: Dog, Spider, Scorpion, Angel.

These are shared-synergy options, not a tested win-rate ranking. Only distinct deployed families count; bench units and summons do not add members.

What changes with stars?

Two matching copies at the same star merge into the next star. Stars I, II, III, and IV represent 1, 2, 4, and 8 copies. Health scales by 1×, 1.7×, 2.8×, and 4.5×; attack scales by 1×, 1.6×, 2.5×, and 4×. Nexus damage increases by one at each star after I. Each ability uses its own values listed above.

Generic star scaling does not increase armor, magic resistance, range, or basic attack speed. Learn the recruiting and merging loop or read about tower and marcher positioning.
