Soul Mage belongs to Brood on attack and Blaster on defense. Buying one family gives you both combat forms.

Planning considerations

Soul Mage's attacking meteor mirrors its formation hex onto the enemy board. Moving it changes the planned impact, so inspect the rival layout. The defending meteor has travel time: slowing or holding a group is an interaction worth testing.

Plan a team with Soul Mage ↗

One recruit. Two abilities.

ON DEFENSE · Blaster

Meteor tower

After an initial 1s delay, targets the nearest marcher within range 4; the meteor falls for 2s, then deals 300% attack damage and a 1/1.5/2/3s stun on the main hex plus 75% damage on adjacent hexes. Successful casts recur every 6/5/4/3s; a multi-target impact can trigger Blaster Aftershock.

ON ATTACK · Brood

Meteor marcher

On spawn, telegraphs a meteor on the board hex mirrored from its formation hex. After 2s it deals 400% attack damage to every tower on the main hex, 100% to towers on adjacent hexes, and stuns main-hex targets for 1/1.5/2/3s.

Catalog attack values can remain nonzero when an ability disables normal attacks. Attack × APS is not a damage forecast. Ability effects, stars, synergies, resistances, and round modifiers change combat outcomes.

Brood partners

2 families: each defeated non-summon marcher hatches one temporary Broodling. 4 families: it hatches one additional Broodling. 5 families: it hatches one further Broodling.

Other Brood families: Pollen, Bee, Egg, Ghost.

Blaster partners

2 families: multi-target tower hits leave a telegraphed 40%-damage Blast Aftershock. 4 families: Aftershock damage increases to 80%. 5 families: it deals 100% damage and has no cooldown.

Other Blaster families: Mushroom, Cactus, Birdie, Bomb.

These are shared-synergy options, not a tested win-rate ranking. Only distinct deployed families count; bench units and summons do not add members.

What changes with stars?

Two matching copies at the same star merge into the next star. Stars I, II, III, and IV represent 1, 2, 4, and 8 copies. Health scales by 1×, 1.7×, 2.8×, and 4.5×; attack scales by 1×, 1.6×, 2.5×, and 4×. Nexus damage increases by one at each star after I. Each ability uses its own values listed above.

Generic star scaling does not increase armor, magic resistance, range, or basic attack speed. Learn the recruiting and merging loop or read about tower and marcher positioning.
